Online Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen experienced a wonderful year on the WPT where he was the only participant to achieve closing table in three of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might recall one of the largest pots in big stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. He secured a huge pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has made many televised poker appearances and is considered to be one of the strongest enthusiasts around the world. While competing in online poker, a different side of Hansen has been seen. Gus often competes in the 200/400 NL max buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen usually buys in for the min of $16, 000 and plays very weak. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then goes all in. I accept that Hansen is an outstanding poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is flat broke, he has absolutely no reason to sit at the game with the min buy in.

Playing for the minimum takes a majority of the skill out of big stack poker. Hansen is supposed to be one of the greatest poker players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy in for the full amount. I believe television can alter our view of the real world sometimes. The best poker players anywhere in the world could be guys you have will not have heard about. Gus can be seen participating in net poker on Full Tilt. He commonly participates in big stakes omaha hold’em and Holdem. Gus has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he use his talents in cash rounds?
