Newcomer Strategy for Pai Gow Poker

Pai Gow Poker is a current game with ancient ancestry. Based on the ancient Chinese domino game and the current American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker bands together the eastern with the western in a great game for beginning level players.

Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the gambler vs. the dealer, unlike most other poker games that gamblers wager against other players. By competing against the dealer, beginning players don’t need to worry about other, more skillful individuals taking their moolla.

An additional Pai Gow benefit is the fairly leisurely game pace, rookies will be able to take their time and scheme while not having to make quick choices.

It’s also easier to play for a long time with just a small bit of cash after all, to not win, each of your hands must be lower than each of the casino’s hands.

Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the customary 52-card common deck and one joker. The gambler is given seven cards faces showing and the croupier is dealt 7 cards faces hidden.

A 5 card hand and a 2 card hand have to be made from the seven cards dealt, the five card hand must be higher than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player is required to have both of his hand values to be better than the houses.
